Hi

I am new to MQ and need a help with understanding this.
I will be running a JAVA program on the UNIX BOX (no websphere layer) . I have installed the MQclient (MQ libraries) on the UNIX box from where I will be connecting to MQ . The questions I have is
1) Do we need a MQ process running on our UNIX box to connect to the MQ server . If so how will I find it ?..Does it have any specific name .
2) I have the ID and password to login to MQ server . Can you point me to a link of a document as to how I can connect to the MQ server .

Thanks in advance
