I set the days per month in Tools --> Options --> Calendar to be 30 days. I saved the mpp file and then when I read the mpp file projectHeader.getDaysPerMonth still says 20 days. Is this a known bug or am I looking at the wrong field ? I save the mpp as xml and this tag is infact 30... any help much appreciated.

Don't get me started about those stupid light bulbs.
