Need review on Digital Cameras...

Planning to buy a good Digital Camera for personal use... not for any professional photography.. Can any one give me the specifications, details about the brand, resolution etc...
I want to go for the cheap and best model.

Being a techie, I would have thought that u wud have learnt your lessons but doesnt seem like it.The First question you need to ask yourself(and tell us too if you want us to suggest something ) is : DEFINE YOUR REQUIREMENTS

Mine were :
Shud be able to fit in a Pocket(This category is called Ultra Compact)
Shud be at least 5 Mega Pixels
Battery Life is High priority
Nice Big LCD Screen
Shud be around 200 Pounds

I bought the Casio Exilim S500 couple of months ago and love it to bits. Highly recommended.

After analysing the above requirements , I find that both our requirements match... I too bought Casio Exilim S500, 6.1 mega pixel cam and there are lots of features...
Actually many of the older models have been discontinued...

I'm in the market too, here are my requirements:

- good pix
- fits in my cargo pants pocket (doesn't have to be ultra--compact)
- at least 4x - preferably 5x optical zoom
- at least 5mpix
- would like aperture priority setting (shutter priority nice but less important)
- would prefer slr type controls as much as possible
- would prefer image stabilization
- FAST

any ideas?

that a620 looks pretty good - you can even get add-on lenses for it, which is pretty amazing.

Its a musical keyboard from casio.... Even this is unusual, but a casio product...

For color and clarity I love Nikon... so good it almost looks as good as film. And having worked at photo store for 5 years, I know a thing or two about color quality. I have the Nikon 8400 (wide angel sub-slr) and I love it. There are many good models available.

I think, it is compact (not ultra compact)

i have a canon A520.

One surprising aspect is, the somewhat close range photos I get from this little camera are much better than $3000 nikon digital that is owned by my friend.

The deal seems to be good for 13k with a 512MB card... Dont know much about the other features of this camera, but many of the older models have been discontinued. No idea about Nikon 5600.

I've [just] heard that Canon is to announce a few new camera models. They are due to do this on the 21st of February [Europe]. Maybe a replacement for the 20D DSLR, and some price cuts.
