Hi Javid and Peter!

Can you tell us how this book is going to help the greenhorns in use of JBoss? Another question is that what are the different aspects of JBoss that one can think
he/she will come to know after reading this book of yours?

Thanks in Advance!

Glad to be here (again!(for the book promo) or still (as the case may be)). And even gladder to say that the book should be available REAL SOON NOW.

Aalok, if I recall the rules correctly, posts to this topic do not qualify you for the drawing for the book - you really should ask your question in a separate topic. And good luck.

Simple question: the book contains a chapter on migrating applications from other containers to and from JBoss ?

IMHO: one of most frustrating part of Java EE is the the portability of the applications from one environment to another.. I am using Glassfish in my open-source project and I tried to migrate to JBoss few months ago, a painful experiment. From the other side, I downloaded some examples from the JBoss community and tried to adapt them to Glassfish - the same problem. But, amazingly, the deployment descriptor are all XML files, so why we don't have a XSLT or other mechanism that allow us just to import a Glassfish application in JBoss or something like that ?

* I am using Websphere (work), Glassfish (personal projects) and JBoss (learning).. and I believe JBoss is still the majority of the open source container installed in the real world. My goal is to keep developing based on Glassfish but with the possibility to deploy also to JBoss without a hell configuration process

Javid, Peter,
Good morning, and congratulations on your latest publishing. I'm working on a distributed call center application in which we have several applications that communicate to each other via a clustered GlassFish application. I would like to port this to JBoss. Would you be able to tell me if JBoss will support (include) the cometd / bayuex / grizzly packages in support of NIO and reverse AJAX (server push)?
Thank you,
Anthony

Hello Javid and Peter,
Thank you for writing a book on this topic, I will be implementing JBoss server later this year and I will use your book. What I need to know is how much J2EE knowledge is required to read this book?

I know some basic Servlets and JSP, will this be enough to start reading this book?

Thank you.

Just a reminder to people asking questions in this topic - any posts to this topic do not make you eligible for the book giveaway. You need to ask your questions in a new topic. That is why we are not answering your questions here.
