Weird though peanut butter and jelly sandwiches sound, they're even stranger in non-American-English, where "jelly" refers to something similar to what you call "Jell-O". Imagine that in a sandwich with peanut butter.... eurgh.

Peanut butter and muesli sandwiches on the other hand.... mmmm.....

To tie this into PB'n'J, I like it spicier: skip the jelly/jam and try a peanut butter sandwich with some Indian pickle like a lime and chili pickle. It's totally different and not for kids anymore, but the pickle goes well with peanut.

Jeff, I can't believe you do that(PB and pickle) too . We do it all the time. In fact, I even mix some pickle in the alfredo sauce pasta that I order from Chili's and it's really great.

I also think the combination of sweet+spicy, for example fruit+chilis,
works well. When I was in Mauritius (where my wife's family is from), I saw how the street vendors would take pineapple slices and pour chili sauce over them. Yin+yang in every bite!

When we were children my sister used to eat peanut butter and Marmite sandwiches, although she denies that outright today. I was PB-allergic, or so I thought, so I left out the peanut butter.

peanutbutter is rather gross, mixing it with jam makes it even worse.
But it can get worse still, I've seen people eat peanut butter and banana sandwiches... Each separate is gross, don't even want to contemplate what would happen if you put them together...

Nutella is indeed very nice, especially on pancakes.

You don't like bananas? They've got to be one of the best fruits (ok, its aherb/ false berry really) on the planet. You can't beat a banana for stopping the mid-afternoon post-beer sleep

The combination of Peanut Butter and Bananas is amazing. If you haven't done it and you like both, then you do not know what you are missing.

One of my most favorite things in the world is to go to the ice cream place ColdStones and get the Banana Ice Cream with Peanut Butter and Peanut Butter cups mixed in with them.

Peanut butter and banana is good, it's one of the few ways I will eat peanut butter. But I am reliably informed that peanut butter and canned tuna is not worth the trouble. (I put it in my son's lunch one day as an experiment -- yes, with his consent.)
