The remake of Omen? It gets mixed reviews on imdb.com, but I'm gonna check it out for myself anyway.

This is true.

My friend Louis is also celebrating his birthday today.

His full name is Louis Saffire ... aka Lou Saffire (Say that really fast and you'll understand why everyone is scared of him ... although his 6'8" height and large frame, mixed with a Goth dress sense and long dark curly hair doesn't help )

"Number of the beast" references aside, today is also the 62nd anniversary of the Allied invasion of Normandy: D-Day

yup, which calls for a quote made by a great man remembering the event.

Were here to mark that day in history when the Allied armies joined in battle to reclaim this continent to liberty. For four long years, much of Europe had been under a terrible shadow. Free nations had fallen, Jews cried out in the camps, millions cried out for liberation. Europe was enslaved, and the world prayed for its rescue. Here in Normandy the rescue began. Here the Allies stood and fought against tyranny in a giant undertaking unparalleled in human history.

The men of Normandy had faith that what they were doing was right, faith that they fought for all humanity, faith that a just God would grant them mercy on this beachhead or on the next. It was the deep knowledge--and pray God we have not lost it--that there is a profound, moral difference between the use of force for liberation and the use of force for conquest. You were here to liberate, not to conquer, and so you and those others did not doubt your cause. And you were right not to doubt.

Strengthened by their courage, heartened by their valor, and borne by their memory, let us continue to stand for the ideals for which they lived and died.

Ronald Reagan, 6 June 1984, on the beaches of Normandy

Well, I woke up to our fire alarm this morning. It turned out to be a false alarm, but it was certainly shrill enough and loud enough to wake the dead, so we've got that covered.

Funny !

Coincidence or not, today many strange things happened here at work.

Two tables in our database were mysteriously dropped.

My colleague almost crashed his car.

Our internet links are facing constant delays.

My wife told me she cannot pick me up in the end of the business day, so I have to go home by bus.

Our SAP system mysteriously are ignoring the interface files generated by our legacy systems.

Well, just funny !

I don't see what the big deal is about 6/6/2006? It's not the number of the beast. The number of the beast is 666. It hasn't been 6/6/6 in 2000 years. People always making something out of nothing.

But I had 6666 posts for most of the day! If 6/6/2006 is meaningless, isn't 6666 posts still-meaningless-but-slightly-less-so?

Maybe just a coincidence, but today I got rid of Windows on all my workstations and moved to Linux.

I still use Satan at home for gaming, so he isn't entirely gone yet
