Hi Mark,

I received a mail from Android Market stating that "the android Market is now accepting application from US and UK developers". Does this mean as Canadian developer I can not publish my application yet?
Shouldn't it be open for all countries for all developers? Am I interpreting it wrong?
I have just ordered your book on Amazon. Do you have something about marketing the applications in your book?

Thanks,

Devender.

Presumably only US and UK developers can publish today on the Android Market. I'll be diving into this area more personally over the next few weeks.

Figuring out Google's side of tax laws and whatnot may not be that simple. Rolling it out piecemeal beats waiting a year for every country's setup to be properly implemented.

This is yet another of the seemingly infinite number of reasons why I wish people would stop thinking of the Android Market as being the one and only way to distribute applications. Just because Apple has a monopoly does not mean you want Google to have a monopoly. Moreover, other markets handle their purchase processes differently (e.g., AndAppStore just passes people to your PayPal account, AFAIK) or have greater experience (e.g., Handango has been around for years and years).

I have just ordered your book on Amazon.

Thanks!

No, but I will be writing about it both on AndroidGuys.com and on NetworkWorkd over the next few months.

Thanks for quick reply Mark.

Think of how dumb the average person is. Mathematically, half of them are EVEN DUMBER. Smart tiny ad:
