frame minimization

i have menubar in jframe1. when i click on the menu i get new jframe (jframe2) inside jframe1. jframe1 is parent frame.

now my requirenment is , when i minimize my parent frame, child frame also get minimize automatically & when maximize then same event.

You could try a non-modal JDialog as the second frame.

i have 8 text fiels and 2 buttons in jframe2.

so how can i convert jframe to jDialog.

in frame1, you might have something like this (relevant code bits only)

JFrame frame2 = new JFrame2();
JPanel panel = new JPanel();
panel.add(new JButton("OK"));
frame2.getContentPane().add(panel);

this becomes

//JFrame frame = new JFrame();
JDialog dialog = new JDialog(frame1);//<---note parent argument
JPanel panel = new JPanel();
panel.add(new JButton("OK"));
dialog.getContentPane().add(panel);
