"Technically, legal identifiers must be composed of only Unicode characters,
numbers, currency symbols, and connecting characters (like underscores).
"

Hi Everyone,

Can any one give the complete list of connecting characters those can be used as a part of a legal identifier please,

if there are any other than underscore(_)

Interesting to know, but on the SCJP exam you will not get tricky questions about esoteric Unicode characters like those in that table.
In other words, you do not need to learn the Unicode numbers of those characters for the exam!

Hi Jesper,

You are correct but the Kathy & Bates book says 'connecting characters like underscore (_) ' which leaves a small doubt in the learner's mind like ' are there any more connecting characters or what and will they trouble us in the exam ' , just like it happened with me. so i explored the issue a bit deep and finally with the forum's help realised that we don't need to bother about the rest of the characters except underscore ( _ ).

Any way thank you for your valuable response. bye
