I've setup a jboss cluster which has two nodes. I followed steps according to jb specs but i get following error while i start up up the node 2. ( My first node starts off with out any issue though.) If any one can give me a hint to resolve this, it would be greatly appreciated.

Check the error I’m getting

The wiki did not help?

but i get following error while i start up up the node 2.

How did you configure the second node to use a different set of ports?

Thanks Jaikiran.

It doesn’t seem to be a port conflict. Error states (Problem starting service jboss.jmx:name=SnmpAgent, service=snmp, type=adaptor
java.net.BindException: Address already in use). Please note I’ve used separate IP for each node. I created two new IPs other than my primary IP for this purpose.

Looking forward to your reply soon.

So how are you starting the two instances of the server? What command are you using?

Resolved !!!
I was able to resolve this with the help of my friend. Thanks Sumedha.

Here we go

- Go in to snmp-adaptor.sar [jb4x/server/all/deploy/snmp-adaptor.sar]
- Open manager.xml and change default port 1162 to some other.
Example:

- Go in to jb4x/server/all/deploy/snmp-adaptor.sar/META-INF folder and open jboss-service.xml
- Find the bean org.jboss.jmx.adaptor.snmp.trapd.TrapdService and change it's port to the same provided above.
- You are done. Star your nodes.

You can also try explicitly setting the snmp port for the second instance in the run.sh script:

-Dcom.sun.management.snmp.port=<PORT>
