Hi Everyone,
I have been a silent listener to this forum.
Today I passed the exam with 71%. Thanks for your help.
It's a tough exam with a lot of scenario based questions. I just got 20 minutes after finishing the questions and then i reviewed all the questions marked for reviews.
Some of the questions and their answers are very much confusing I had a very less sleep yesterday night(3 hours) but I will suggest-don't keep anything for the last week...just sleep as exam require too much attention and focus. 50% of the questions you can answer based on your past experience and whatever you read during preparation and rest you need to very much mentally present to figure out the correct answers. Only go thru the question -2nd time if you are not getting it. Don't waste time-if you have to go thru it 4-5 times for the same question, then make sure you have at least marked all the other ones.
There was one drag and drop question, few questions with one correct answer and there were questions with 2-3 correct answers. I got few questions which have 4 and 5 correct answers also. Remember-you will get full marks only if you have selected all the correct answers.
I have around 9.5 years of experience in IT. It took around 2-2.5 months with most of the studies done only during the weekend. I have a very tough and demanding project so hard to find any time for a detailed and thorough preparation
I referred:
1) Mark Cade guide for 052 portions.
2) JEE 5 tutorial from SUN
3) Mikalai tutorial- http://java.boot.by/scea5-guide/
4) Core J2EE Patterns-Deepak Alur....
5) Core security patterns-free chapter
6) Java Passion website
7) Heads First Design pattern
8) EJB 3 in Action(very fast reading skipping a lot of portions)
9) Some tutorials on IBM website javaworld
10) Sun's ePractice and whizlabs SCEA5 exam simulator.
At the end of it, I will say it's not the certification but what all we have learned during the preparation that matters.

Congratulations !! Very useful information.
Can you give your opinion on the 2 mock exams you have mentioned ? I plan to buy one of the 2..this would help to make up my mind.

Many congratulations!!! and thanks for sharing it.

I have a question here! I am a SCJP. Now, can I directly go for SCEA certification without SCJD??

Thanks

You don't need to be even SCJP to apply for SCEA5.
SCEA5 is broadly speaking concept wise certification but it's good to know depth and breadth of all Java/JEE technologies to clear it.
