generate barcode image

hey,

Is it possible to generate an image (.jpg, .gif) with barcode ? I was able generate pdf with barcode using iText api, but my requirement is to generate and display barcode in a webpage and later print the page with barcode.

Is it possible to create image file using iText api or convert .pdf to .jpg ? any ideas / suggestions?
