Hi there and welcome to Javaranch! Have you taken a look at the Java Sound APIs? Also do a search of this forum for the Vox keyword, you might find this has been answered in the past...

thanks ... actually i hav been tried by java sound api from jresourses.org.got a java code RawAudioDataConverter.java but after converting with this code wav file quality is not gud playing with distortion.i m trying for a vox java applet player it would be benificial for me.I hav to play .vox file in my wav application.

It sounds like you need to figure out what the encoding is and then convert it to a 'better' format before playing it. There are probably useful java linbs out there for that, any sound experts out there care to suggest a couple?

hi thks martijn I have been tried this also actually i m not a audio expert dats why not able to convert in to exact format.well recently i got a c exe.its a command line converter for vox to wav i will use.its output is very clear.thnks a lot for support.
