Its the net standard.
Sorry, I don't mean to sound persnikity.
Desktop Tower Defense is an unbelievable game, and many here on JavaRanch have been totally addicted. It's also gathered a great following. Go to YouTube, and hundreds of people are posting their games online for others to see. It's amazing!
Desktop Tower Defense
I also have free online
SCJA, Portal and IRAD mock certification exams on my personal sites that I don't require an email address for people to take. Of course, I do hope to get some sideline book sales from such things.
Someone who just wanted others to really have fun and enjoy his work posted the game up. The goal wasn't to collect people's email addresses, do information gathering, or have people worry that they might have their privacy violated or passwords sold. The developer just wanted people to have fun!
I'm just thinking that
alot of people could really enjoy your game if they weren't scared off by having to give a username and password. It always makes people leery, me included.
You could just give them any disposable mail address.I use mailinator for these kind of registrations.
And this is the problem. So many people want to mine your email address, now people just give out bogus ones.
I looked at the docs, and the game does look interesting! I can only imagine how much time and effort it took.
