Spring and Hibernate Transaction Management

Hi ,

I am seeing different mechanisms for handling Transactions in Spring and Hibernate Management
Can anybody please help . I found a simple way using <tx:annotation-driven/>

  <bean id="transactionManager" class="org.springframework.orm.hibernate3.HibernateTransactionManager">
        <property name="sessionFactory" ref="sessionFactory" />
    </bean>
    <tx:annotation-driven/>
    <bean id="personDao" class="org.springbyexample.orm.hibernate3.dao.PersonDaoImpl">
        <property name="sessionFactory" ref="sessionFactory" />
    </bean>

public class PersonDaoImpl implements PersonDao {
    protected HibernateTemplate template = null;

    public void setSessionFactory(SessionFactory sessionFactory) {
        template = new HibernateTemplate(sessionFactory);
    }
    
        return template.find("from Person p where p.lastName = ?", lastName);
    }

    
    @Transactional(readOnly = false, propagation = Propagation.REQUIRES_NEW)
    public void save(Person person) {
        template.saveOrUpdate(person);
    }

I am using Spring 2.5 and Hibernate 3.1 , will this be a good approach or please tell me what is the best mechanism for Handling Transactions . Thanks in advance .
