The x900 effect ?

+Pie Number of slices to send: Send
I must admit upfront that not only am I in the clutches of this beast, but that this very post is an example of its power...

Do you find that when you get to around x900 posts (900 or 1900 or in Jim's case 123900) you start posting more frequently so that you can hit that next milestone?

Yeah, back in my younger, more care-free four digit days. Since I joined the 10K club, though, not so much. But when I get to 19900... sure.

So, let's see... the \d9*\d\d effect?

I think I started posting a bit more when I got really close to 11K. Like, within 50 or so posts.
+Pie Number of slices to send: Send
Nope. In fact I don't even know what my post count is at the moment. I'll look after I post this.

Bear: You're lucky nobody got in between all those posts.

I think I speed up a little bit maybe 10-50 posts before a major milestone. Then I pause on the final one, because I don't want to waste it on a boring everyday thread. I usually wait until I have something clever to say in MD or MO. Which can be pretty rare, as many of you can attest. I think once I even delayed posting my milestone post by half a day or so just to annoy Map, because I was pretty sure she was waiting for my post so she could post congratulations.

Wow, Jim is close to 18000.

I actually find the opposite, that it seems to take longer once you get to that last 100 of the K mark. Where the first 900 posts go by quickly, because I don't notice the post count at that point. But when it gets to 900+, then I notice and that slows it down. I don't purposely slow down or speed up.

Bear is the one to watch, at the moment. I may have to disable his account shortly.
