taking SCJP this month end, some doubts..please help

hi

i am new and this is my first thread,

i am taking scjp (310-065) this month end and this is the very first certification exam i am taking. although i have read about certfication of this subjects, i have some doubts... people who have passed please help:

1. first BIG question, if i FAIL in first attempt will i get another another free attempt? or will all my money vanishes in thin air?

2. while answering multiple correct answers, will the question tell you how many correct answers you have to check?

3. if suppose there are 2 correct answers to be checked,what if i check 1 correct answer and for worse 1 wrong answer? will 1 correct and 1 wrong answer cancel each other and the score is 0, or will get half marks for correct one?

4. and one final question: who have passed scjp, how well you descrbe yourself about your java knowledge? what i mean is do you are like-"just ask me anything in java i will just shoot the answer, java i my second instinct" or do scratch your head and stare at the question when object is created with superclass reference and thrown here and there, into the tunnels of arrays, methods without mercy and you think yourself "what i have done to my life?"

Hi, it is good to know that you decided to take the exam. Now go focus on your questions:

1. Look at here for that: http://www.sun.com/training/savings/retake.xml

2. Yes, in the question you can see how many answers to check.

3. After you finish the questions, and before you submit the answers, you can see a table of marked questions (by you) and incompleted questions (unanswered and incompleted in the way you say).

I was curious about that, so I searched a little and found a very interesting article for everybody who is going to take the exam: http://certcities.com/editorial/exams/story.asp?EditorialsID=42
There you have your answer.

with the multiple-choice/multiple-answers questions, all the correct statements must be selected and none of the wrong ones -- otherwise you simply get no credit at all.

i went throgh http://www.sun.com/training/certification/assessment/index.jsp,
it says one has to use Priority Code WW39CX1 when you place your order. an this offer is valid in all countries where Sun certification is sold, except Brazil, India and Japan.

and i am from India and no clue what is Priority code, i guess i dont have free retake.

I have just ordered SCJP voucher for $300 (in USA) and I got the free-retake offer. (I strongly feel that I don't use the retake :-) )
It is not valid in India. I am not sure the cost of SCJP voucher in india, but, I am sure its not as much as in USA (Rs.15,000 or $300).

Rs.15000/-($300) for SCJP in USA... My GOD. its toooo expensive there.
Sun India says its Rs.7200/-(around $145) for SCJP.

No wonder India has no free retake, cause for those in USA, they already have pre-charged for retake - you take it or not.

And best thing for me, when i bought voucher 5 months back, there was some offer, where i only paid Rs.5200/-(around $100).

All these days i was grunting that i had no free retake. Who needs free retake when you have to pay only $100.
