Resources I used :

1) Java Web Services Up and Running.
2) SOA Using Java Web Services (Chapter 1-8).
3) SCDJWS 5 Study Notes by Ivan A Krizsan
4) SCDJWS 5.0 Study Guide by Mikalai Zaikin
5) Whizlabs.

My reading for the first two book was quick and without any coding practice (1 week for each), I just wanted to get the general ideas and become comfortable with WSs. For the details Ivan's and Mikalai's notes are excellent. Ivan's notes are excellent for practice, all the example are runnable and very well documented. (Except the JAXR client, which I didn't try to run).

Congrats ! How difficult was the exam? Was it mainly theoretical? How much code snippets did you get? From which portions did they put the code snippets? Is it necessary to remember some basic API?
I'm planning to take the exam shortly. Any pointer would be really helpful. Congrats again!

My exam was not that difficult, many many questions are straight forward if you have read Ivan's and Mikalai's notes (at least twice). I have finished in 1 hour and half, I had plenty of time to review my answers but I didn't because I was sure that I passed and most importantly I wasn't comfortable in my seat . I didn't have any drag and drop or missing code snippets questions. Yes you need to know the basic API, and in my opinion Ivan's notes are more than enough.

Good luck .

Thanks for info.
How much experience do you have in Java Web Services?

You can say None, I have worked on a project for a month, a couple of months ago but I was relying completely on my IDE to hide the complexity of the technology, soon I realised that it not gonna work for non-trivial tasks and faced many dead ends. That's when decided to plunge and get certified.

how long did you take to prepare for this exam. i am in the same boat. have over a month of experience in WS. it is good enough to confuse you further with such an experience.
Congrats.!
can you provide link to Ivan A Krizsan's notes.
