My favorites fodler holds 137 files, runs 30 kilobytes.

If you want a listing I can maybe write something in java that will do a File.list(); but that would be a short listing taken vis-a-vis the several hundred folders in eight or ten roots that constitute normal workspace.

I just use the favorites folder as a shortcut when I am in a hurry and do not have time to archive something.

I consider working the human mind-field to be the real favorite.

Ye gods. How hard is to to provide links? Yes, I can google, along with every other moderately tech-savvy reader. But the net wastefulness of numberOfAllReaders * timeToGoogle is appalling compared to 1 (the number of people referring obliquely to a particular site) * timeToGoogleWithoutClickingOnASimpleLinkWhichAnyModeratelyIntelligentPersonShouldHaveProvidedInTheFirstPlace. Come on, give us direct links to those sites you think are cool.

Apparently, Jim has the opposite mind-set from these folks

Hm, reading my post above again, it sounds a lot crankier than I intended it. I went back and put in a couple smilies to better reflect that.

I'll take the heat, I did not find your post ( personally focused ) nor objectionable even slightly, but since this is Mean ( ingless ) Drivel we can Ignore the Buddy ( whom I do not have the courage to add to my buddy list ) and focus on the ingless part ( don't worry folks - these guys are smart enough to see where I am going with this )

I tried to pm you some additional thoughts, but your pm is full. Do you need help coming up with those handy labels ? I would have used random strings from a open-wire randomizer page but I thought since at least the ( deleted post ) labels had recognizable human concepts that would be easier than scurrying around looking for MindFields that readers can just wander into.

I guess we could wonder about some favorite technological blugs and web sites so we don't lose the original poster's intent.
