[color=green]i'm getting an sql exception which says --- Connection reset by peer -- - wat could possibly go wrong.. is it because of the stored procuedure that is called or because of the SQL-drivers being used.. [/color]

I think this is due to some network problem etc.. Is your application is a stand-alone/web/... ? and where is your DB located?
