yahoo mail oddities

You ever get locked out of your yahoo account for 5-10 minutes every now and then for no apparent reason? The password hasn't been changed because you can login from one of the old(pre classic) yahoo mail urls just not the main page.

May be I should set up my own mail server and start using it.

There are other alternatives, for example Gmail or Hotmail. I especially like Gmail - it's the best online mail program I've ever used.

Using your own mail server is a good learning experience, but it's a pain to maintain - you'll need to filter spam yourself and be very careful about security, before you know it some hacker is using your mail server to send spam around.
