What will i get after SCJP ?

HI,
Im a student Software engneering student of NIIT. Is SCJP certification will help me. Even if get it what will i get from Sun.
And this certification can i gat a good job and of how much salary(approx)?

It's impossible to say what your salary will range between if you have the SCJP.

The SCJP does not say anything about your general quality and capacity of work. It says you have well understood the syntax and semantics of the Java Programming language, which does not mean you are a good Software Engineer.

The more important part is that it shows dedication towards your work, as you voluntarily dig into it and take that test, which is always impressive.

Moreover, it gives you personal satisfaction

As I was told yesterday, any certification that proves your knowledge is helpful regardless of the reward. I'm not all that familiar with NIIT, but with some sort of degree AND a certificate, you should be able to find some sort of entry level job. Programming skills are not all a company looks for however, how personable you are and past experience is also plays a decent roll in getting a job. As for your salary, that is going to vary by company. I have seen entry level start anywhere from 25k and upwards. It is just going to depend on your credentials. Hope this helped. Good Luck!

When I got SCJP 6, I began looking for a job but didn't find it, I got SCBCD 5, no job at all, a week after passing SCWCD I found one in a good company

They expect a developper to have a good knowledge in design, so take care of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery, PhotoShop and Ajax, and I recommend not to pass the second certification, most company work with hibernate (Not JPA) and Spring (Not EJB 3), knowing struts 1 and JSF is also very important

Its sad that people narrow their prospect with just seeing the job perspective. Its not about certification, its what we get while we prepare for a certifcation. Everything inside and out of the language and passing the certification implicitly proves that. Its only that how it is put to use......well its upto each and every individual.

I am going to pass SCJP, SCJPPlus, SCWCD, SCBCD and maybe SCEA and I think that getting a job won't be very easy. But I study Java because it has become my passion

That's the spirit....i will be giving SCJD first then will be going for SCBCD. Then may be i will think about giving SCJP+
