Hi folks,
I am very new in Ajax and trying to run an simle example from W3schools website. I have uploaded the HTML and js files on the server to run AJAXSuggest.html on server. I entered "E" on First name input, I expected to see these suggestions.... Eva , Eve , Evita , Elizabeth , Ellen....., But I received nothing and in front of the Suggestions is null.

First name:
Suggestions: Eva , Eve , Evita , Elizabeth , Ellen

Can you help me to see what I am doing wrong?
Really appreciate your help.
Elahe

I have posted the link to test it yourself.
AJAXSuggest.html

1. AJAXSuggest.html

2.clienthint.js

Sorry, but the red text is too hard to read. Also, please be sure to use code tags when posting code to the forums. Unformatted code is extremely hard to read and many people that might be able to help you will just move along to posts that are easier to read. Please read this for more information.

You can go back and change your post to add code tags and remove the spurious color by clicking the button on your post.

Much better!

Next is to define what 'But It doesn't work" means. Please read this for more information.

Have you used Firebug to debug the issue?

Firebug is not an editor, it is a plugin to Firefox that helps you to debug JavaScript, especially when Ajax is concerned. Use it to see what is happening with your Ajax request.

Update:

I fixed my issue as one ASP file was missing on my server, so I have added "gethint.asp" to the server so it works fine now.

But I appreciate if you answer my question that if I need firebug when I am using IE8.

Why would you test your app on just IE? Is it only for IE users?

Well, you'll need to find an IE debugger. I don't use IE, so I don't know of any,
