I'm hoping someone can shed some light on a problem that I've encountered while trying to use c3p0 with Grails. The main issue is with using an implementation of the c3p0 ConnectionCustomizer interface to initialize some Oracle session settings before the connection goes into the pool.

The c3p0 documentation specifies installation as simply implementing the ConnectionCustomizer interface, making the new implementation accessible to c3p0's ClassLoader, and setting the connectionCustomizerClassName config parameter to point to it. Simple enough. Everything works as expected when I roll everything up into a war and deploy it with Tomcat. However, running "grails test-app" fails with a ClassNotFoundException on my implementation class:

I suspect that ignorance regarding class loaders might be preventing me from figuring this out. Any hints are definitely appreciated.
