Here is a opportunity that may be of interest to some of you

Senior Software Engineer Java/Oracle (architecture/design/development skills)

Highly successful mid sized Financial Services firm in Hightstown, NJ has an immediate need for a stand out Java Software Engineer with Deep Oracle skills to join an elite team of technologists working on systems/applications that are core to the success of the business!

You will be a key player in the design and development of new software/systems, as well as the improvement and enhancement of existing. This requires a broad range of skills from architect to developer, and a deep understanding of how to build robust systems/software from the ground up. Must understand the full life cycle of front to back end development and deployment.

This role requires a deep knowledge of core Java, design patterns, open source tools, J2EE, RDBMS. Requires experience building high-performance and high-availability systems that can handle a large number of transactions in a mission critical environment. Should have a strong grasp of multithreading, collection APIs, concurrency, JVM, garbage collection, I/O, Message Driven Middleware, etc.

You will work on all layers of the application, with emphasis on server side development and Database.

This opportunity requires a very strong understanding of RDBMS. Must be able to design/model the database. Strong SQL skills (stored procs, triggers, functions, etc). Database optimization is key!

Experience in optimization, network programming, web services and socket-level IO is also strongly desired. Experience with J2EE technologies; Open Source tools (JBoss); and TCP/IP level protocols.

Want someone passionate about technology and pushing the envelope to make things work better (with an eye on how to design using flexible architectures for the future).

This person should also be able to contribute in an open forum and lead others. Would like to see someone that has led a team in the successful delivery of a high volume/high transaction products/systems/applications.

Must be a technical hobbyist… someone that researches and evaluates new technologies and can contribute ideas on what tools can bring us to the next level.
