eclipse methods are not coming

i am using eclipse 3.5 and if i keep dot methods are not coming can anybody tell what i have to do ?
eg
if i type out and keep dot

pritnln is not coming

Are there any libraries shown in the build path dialog? Do you have completion turned on? (I don't recall if you can turn it off in 3.5.) Are you typing System.out or have out statically imported?

There is time delay before the command completion dialog shows up, perhaps that time was set to high. Try this: type "System.out." and then type CTRL-spacebar. If the command completion shows up, then the delay is set too high. If it does not show up then something else is wrong.

You can check the time delay, and other settings, in the Preferences dialog, under Java | Editor | Content Assist.
