Its hard to tell what you are missing without a stack trace. I have not worked with weblogic portal, but if you post more info, some one here might be able to help
There is not much that any one can say about that since all we know right now is that the portlet is not visible. There could be a thousand problems that prevent the portlet from being visible. What are these old and new files ? What changes did you make ?
Previously, the new portlet did not exist. I created the portlet and then added it into the portal using the Weblogic Workshop.
This caused changes in the .portal file.
So, the file that I replaced is the .portal file, which now has an entry mentioning the new portlet.
The other files (viz. JSP, .portlet) are new.
Since the .portal file now contains an entry of the new portlet, shouldn't a restart make the new portlet visible in the Weblogic Administration Portal ???
