You'll be glad to know that Struts 1.1 Final Version was released recently (29th June 2003). Have a quick look at -

I would also request you to keep an eye on JavaServer Faces (JSF), because its an API set that targets fixing issues some of which are also targetted by Struts and I guess JSF will have strong influence on future Struts releases. To justify my point, I found Craig R. McClanahan, the creator of Struts, appointed as the specification lead of JSF.
