how to display image on a jsp page without using any html tag like img tag and without using jsp scriptlets?

Why can't you use HTML to display an image? That's how things are done. It's the point of the tag after all.

JSP is merely a templating mechanism to send HTML pages to the browser. So you need to use normal HTML elements in your page jsut like any other page.

To display an image you use the image tag, or make the image the background of an element using CSS.
