Please i need some advise on a project i need to develop using struts 2...

First of all thank you for viewing this post/helping out. I am a graphic designer and an intermediate J2ee programmer. I am about to graduate in December with a computer science degree, but i want to substitute my lack of work experience with a project (Website development using Struts2) i will develop on my own so it would be a little easier to break into the job market. I want to develop a website using struts 2 as the main framework. I have "some" experience with struts2 and i am still learning but i believe this project would help me out. I am looking to design a website such as this:

I just need some advise and some pointers on how to start and a good path on which i should go.. what to avoid, is it possible?

I have experience with: flash,java,mySql,JDBC,html,css,actionscript,photoshop e.t.c

If you don't know nothing about struts ("some" experience is confusing for me, so I'm assuming you know nothing), then I would recommend that you start of by reading a book on struts 2. There's a list of books here. Most of the books have a complete sample site developed at the end which can be good for your practice. Only after you have some good basic knowledge should you go on with developing the site otherwise things can get messy...
