Does SCJD cover J2EE subjects ? If I pass SCJD exam, can I claim myself as J2EE programmer?
Thanks

Hi Kee Kee moon,

If you took the effort to use a search engine like google, you would come up with this link (just enter "scjd" and search), where you can read:

This performance-based certification is for developers interested in demonstrating advanced proficiency in the Java programming language using the Java SE.

which answers your question I would think.

If you follow Sun Certified Developer for the Java Platform, Standard Edition: Assignment (Step 1 of 2) (CX-310-252A) you'll get at the bottom of the page an overview of the APIs you have to use and which you don't (see "APIs relevant to the assignment").

Kind regards,
Roel

Howdy, Kee Kee Moon!

Champion, in order to be a good JEE programmer, I'd recommend SCWCD and SCBCD. Also, the reading of the Core J2EE Patterns is a must.

Also, is your name really "Kee Kee Moon"? If not, I'd kindly like to ask you to use your real name. Here at JavaRanch, there's a naming policy that we follow. Please take a look at that. If it is your real name, please nevermind.

SCJD is the most challenging Java Certification available. Passing the exam does not make you a JavaEE developer, although any Java EE API that you would want to learn would be a piece of cake for you

He was giving me directions and I was powerless to resist. I cannot resist this tiny ad:
