In the interviews that I have done, I rarely, if ever, get a thank you email. This is mainly because I am on the technical side, and by the time the candidate gets to me, he/she is already in the groove of the interview process -- little time for formalities here.

On the rare ocassion that I did get such a email -- it was weird. It was good that someone took the time to do so. It wasn't expected, and hence, a pleasant surprise. On the other hand, how did this person get my email address? Felt like I was stalked a bit ...

Is that mean we have to get mail-ids of the interviewers anyhow.
Again question arise... of HR or Technical interviewer??
Is it ok to write a note on the companies mail-ids??

I rarely get thank you notes as well. Of course I don't give the candidate a card or advertise my e-mail address either. When I have gotten the thank you e-mail, it was from an onsite interview. I would be surprised to get one for a phone screen.
