what will differentiate different links on the *.jsp page && how to retrive it for further process ?

i want to show some links on 1st.jsp . onclicking on any of them how can i know which link has been clicked .


I actually want to do data base paging . Upon that result of the clicked link I want to show set of rows on the same jsp (1st.jsp ) .


need help .

hi Bibeault . i know the sql part of paging .

My scenario is -->

i have to show 4 rows on each click on the same 1st.jsp . suppose links are like 1 2 3 4 . How i will be knowing

which link has been clicked.


Once i get no. of the link clicked i can use it in my paging logic.

A link can contain parameters like this: http://localhost:8080/myApp/myPage.jsp?param1=1¶m2=2

how to fetch the value of param1 ? will it be stored in request object .. by donig request.getAttribute("param1");

A little hint: param1 is a parameter, not an attribute.

i think i am close to it.

means request.getParameter("para1") will do .
