Hi all,

if we create war file using (1) Ant build.xml and (2) eclipse ( export project as war file ) ...... in both cases the war file would be the same ?

if yes, then why to use build.xml tedious process to create war file ?

Having an Ant build allows you to do several things:

- Complete control over what goes into the war file, and where
- Allows non-Eclipse users to build the project
- Similarly allows the use of a continuous integration server to build the project
