We have eclipse 3.4.1 installed in X-windows server and we need to work on that IDE tool from windows machine. For this we are opening the eclipse by connecting to X-windows server through Xming and PuTTY SSH. This tool has only simple java enabled but it doesn't have web tool to create and execute the project like other eclipse based tools (RAD, Jdeveloper Studio, etc). I need only web based plugins for this. Can anyone how to install these web plugins from my windows machine?
Here is the update site for the Web Tools platform: http://download.eclipse.org/webtools/updates It implies that you need Galileo (which is Eclipse 3.5.1) so I'm not sure if it works with your version. I'm running Eclipse Galileo and the Web Tools platform, and it works fine.
By the way, I don't think it matters where you're running Eclipse, so I think all the X-server talk may just confuse people. If you think it's significant, can you please explain why (perhaps I'm missing something)?
