can anyone explain how this listener actually works...i know that this listener is used to notify when an attribute is tranferred from one jvm to other...but what does this mean?
is there a link for understanding this....

HttpSessionActivationListener applies in web applications which are distributed i.e. span over multiple VMs. If the first request is server by VM1 and the next request of the same client is served by VM2, then on the 2nd request the session of the client will be moved from VM1 to VM2, this is where HttpSessionActivationListener kicks in...
you mean if the first request is served an application that is on one vm...and next request is served the same application which is now on another vm...jvm is changing means what? can you give me a practical application? is the computer changing which means different jvm are working now...or OS is changing..
