I want to start for the SCJP 6.0. Could you please guide me in this?.I have heard of Kathay Seiara book. Is it same as K&B which is mentioned here in the forum?
Could you please advice me where to start from?.

The SCJP Faq is a good starting point.

Hello,

Start with K&B book.

1-Complete it, solve the self test questions. Revise two minute drills.
2-Frequently refer to API docs and JLS
3-Pick up amazing exam simulators like ExamLab, EnthuWare and for a detailed list of mock test check ScjpMockTests
4-Regularly visit java-ranch. Clear your doubts and help others clearing the doubts.

Hope this helps,

welcome to ranch

like Prithvi told, K&B is the best place to start . Do lot of small programs, and always do the pratcice questions at end of each chapter. If you answered wrong, code it yourself and see where you went wrong, twist the code here and there and see what happens and try to understand why it happened!

once you are done with the book, re read it and do Master exams, Devaka's Exam Lab, and go for some good mock's like Enthuware JQPlus.
also visit ranch frequently and clear your doubts and help others with their questions!

all the best mate!
