I'm interested in the various login/authentication code that reused other folks' implementations. The Open ID idea seems interesting, but I'm finding the documentation a bit opaque. Even the Tutorials seem to be missing critical parts. I feel like I'm trying to learn Unix from the man pages age, where the information is correct in each man page, but they are so dependant on stuff in other man pages, that you have to read hundreds of them to figure out how to start.

I've started with the OpenId 4 Java library and I'm more than a bit lost.

In a standard servlet/jsp container world (tomcat, glassfish, etc.) how do I start? I assume that the OpenId4 java login functions replace my Login bean, that is mapped to a filter in the usual web app XML file. But I'm just not seeing if this is right, wrong, or off planet.

With a little knowledge, a cast iron skillet is non-stick and lasts a lifetime.
