hi all,
I m very new to java.
I want to make a program that reads source code of any URL, and then it validates it's markup language syntax, css, and broken links. Can you please guide me in the issue,, how I start it and how I can achieve it?

If anybody has source code for this in even in other language then please send me .

If anybody has better idea in my project definition,,then please guide me.

thanks and regards,
sneha.

To read from a URL, look at the java.net package.

Here are a couple of examples - URL Example,
Example 2

If it returns XML, you can check if its well-formed. But I am not sure how you can check for css and broken links.

Welcome to the Ranch

Please avoid coloured text; many people find it difficult to read. We don't simply supply code, but would expect you to put effort into creating something which we would help improve.

That question is too difficult for "beginning" so I shall move it.

Sneha,
It did not take long to find some "open source" +"java" "css validator"'s on Google.
Like this one: http://dev.w3.org/cvsweb/2002/css-validator/
