  • You need to give Part 3 first at a testing center. Make sure you get a copy of the Examination Score Report.

  • You then need to email your assignment to architect-submit_US@oracle.com

  • You WILL get an acknowledgement email in a minute or two. If you don't, something's not right.

  • After a couple of days, the fact that you took Part 3 has to appear in the certmanager's history page. If not, contact Prometric immediately. Sun will not grade your exam till Prometric uploads your essay answers. More help here

  • You will now have to wait for a while before Sun sends you an email stating that your assignment has been sent for grading.

  • You then wait [around 4 weeks] for an email from architect-submit_US@oracle.com with the subject line Sun Certification: Your assignment results

  • My email said

    Hi Ryan,
Congratulations! You have passed the Sun Certified Java Architect for EE5 certification. ...

    Good luck.

  • Did you mean the result of Part 3 would appear no matter whether you part 2 had been graded? I saw many people got Grade "P" Score "0" which means they passed the entire test. I am very confused on this issue that you got Grade "P" Score "0" for you part 3 means you passed the entire SCEA test or just indicate oracle has received your part 3 essay? Could someone please answer the question for me?

I posted this under "What a mess" but no responses - mods, please delete from there to avoid duplication...

    1) To submit part 2 assignment (310-301A) the email with assignment details I got from Sun told me to send my solution to "architect-submit@oracle.com".
Emails to this id started bouncing. I searched here and found reference to "architect-submit_US@oracle.com" and submitted to this ID.
Is this correct.??? Or should I send to some other Id? ( I am based in India)

    2) I have followed all instructions for submitting part 2 correctly.
But I accidentally typed "310-300A" as the exam for which I am submitting the assignment.
On realizing , I resent the same assignment correcting the exam code to "310-301A". Is this allright?
Wondering if I'm gonna get hosed for this.
    Worried a bit. Any pointers?

    3) SCEA III - and here is the mess. I went to the Prometric Center and started the test on time. After 1 hour, I realized the keyboard was really bad and mentioned to the person at the center. He offered to change the keyboard in a second. On doing that, the exam locked up. After a spate of calls to Prometric help desk, the only way out was to delete all my answers (5 looooooooong ones) and restart...

It was frustrating but no choice - i just wanted to get this over with.

So i began again at 5PM and finally finished.... The tips on this forum on what type of questions are quite good....

Moral of the story : make sure your hardware is good before you start the exam. Once you start, don't change hardware....

    Thanks.

    Ravi

Question on the Sun CertManager page.

Under my account I have 2 certifications showing up:

    1) (310-052r) Sun Certified Enterprise Architect for the Java Platform, Enterprise Edition 5

    2) (310-062) Java Enterprise Edition 5 Enterprise Architect Certified Master Essay Exam (Step 3 of 3).

These 2 show under different headings.. The first one under "Cun Certified....", the 2nd under "Oracle Certified...." - is this ok?

310-301A doesn't show up anywhere (assignment submission)... Is this ok?

    Thanks

    Hi Ravi,

I submitted my assignment to the same email address as you did. I think this should be a correct email address , don't worry about that.

But I didn't mention the exam code in the email , i just simply mentioned my test Id which is my prometric Id (required in my downloaded assignment)

Thanks Xin. I hope they gloss over my assignment code in that case.
I'm still worried about having submitted it twice. I wrote to the "suncert_ww@oracle.com" explaining my double submission.... Hopefully it won't mess up things

Dose it show the grade "P" for 310-062?

How long did you get the record for part 3 after your submission?

In my case, it only shows part 1 result, nothing else.

Someone said that if you see part 3 result meaning you have got the final result.

I don't see "P" against either one - the only difference is.
For 310-052r, there is a little square fully colored blue (i'm assuming it means i've passed)
for 062, I see the square half blue, half white meaning it is in progress..

It is only 3 days since I've done part 3....

Why yours is so different from mine?
For me, there is neither square or blue color. For 310-052, it explicitly shows Grade and Score.

I just got a mail from "architect-submit_US@oracle.com" saying they have got my part 2 assignment and 3 essay and they have sent it for grading. So seems my worries on messing up the process are unfounded.

No luck for me. I also just got a email from "architect-submit_US@oracle.com" saying that they only got my part 2 assignment and no 3 essay.

    @Xin Qi:

    Login to certmanager/sun.
Click the 'History' link on the left.
You should see something like this after you appeared for the third part:

(310-062r) Sun Certified Enterprise Architect for the Java Platform, Enterprise Edition 5 - Essay Exam - Taken

If you couldn't find the result of part 3 on certmanager, then go to i 7 . If it doesn't appear that either after 4 or 5 days you completed your part 3, then there're must be something wrong: your part 3 essay haven't been uploaded to Oracle's database yet. You should contact Oracle or Prometric , Good luck.

Well. It is there in my i7 account. Also have an email from architect-submit that they have both parts 2 and 3 and that it's gone for grading.
Just concerned that it is not showing up on the certmanager db.

I would have thought that too and it used to be part 2 then part 3. I forget where I read it, but the order is in fact part 3 then part 2.

No matter which part you do first, but make sure complete the part 2 and part 3 together within 5 business days. Because after 5 days you submit your part 2, oracle will check your submission and at meantime they will look up your part 3.

To play safe , do your part 3 first , then mail your part 2. Because oracle wont check your part 3 until they get you part 2.

    hope this helpful

Hi - I just got a mail from Oracle saying I'm certified (Yay !!!)
My integral7 certmanager page (http://www.certmanager.net/sun) says "Status - Certified" and then "Manually Certified".
What does mean? Hope it is not some kind of temporary status? A bit concerned...

Congrats, don't worry about the status on certmangager. The email said you passed , then you passed. My status on certmanager only appears part 1 , even though Oracle has already got my part 3.

How long does it take for the SCEA Certificate to reach one? Is it sent from the US to all parts of the world or would it originate in the country where I took the exam (India in my case)?
Also, the "Congratulations" email talks about "Your certificate package is being processed for shipping....."
What exactly does the "Certificate Package" contain - just the certificate or anything else?

Its only 10 days since I got the "passed" email - getting a bit fidgety waiting for the physical copy of the certificate

Weird - I'd mailed to "architect-submit_US@oracle.com" in Oct and got an acknowledgment from them on receipt of parts 2 and 3.
Try writing to the Oracle OCP team at suncert_ww@oracle.com
