Future of JavaFx

I am interested in developing RIA on web. Initially i thought of learning JavaFx but problem is from research on the internet, it seems there's no future for JavaFx. I want your honest opinion about this. Is there a future for JavaFx? With the upcoming HTML5, i feel it is not even worth learning it. Please advice. Thanks.

I was at the Sun conference last year and they sounded committed to Java FX but in over a year's time they haven't done a lot to convince me they meant it. I think Java FX has a future as an embedded GUI in devices such as TVs but overall has a pretty bleak future.

IMVHO, no I don't think so, at least not on the web.
As iOS and Android devices don't run JavaFX, I don't it has a future.
On devices? maybe ...

Actually, it does run on Symbian OS, which is the most popular mobile platform in the world.

JavaFX does HAVE a future, and it's looking like a bright one in my opinion.

This isn't the first time they've put Java FX as the future of Java... let's hope its not more false promises. My biggest concern is that by the time "FX is ready for prime time" that boat for adoption will have already sailed (if it has not sailed already).

JavaFX does HAVE a future, and it's looking like a bright one in my opinion.

Since the JavaFX syntax (a.k.a. JavaFX Script) and its bindings are history, all that's left of JavaFX is additions to the JSE class library; am I missing something?

I looks like Oracle will be promoting JavaFX as a UI toolkit (in a similar way to GWT probably) and it will allow working with different server-side JVM languages like Groovy and JRuby. JavaFX Script didn't make sense anyway.
