Please make the subject line more meaningful .
Personally I feel scoring in the exam depends entirely on the knowledge of the language and its use.
Head First is indeed a good book, find out more views in the SCJP and Book review forums.

Head First is a good book ... i personally recommend that ... i read it too

but it's more of a starter although it teaches you all and everything above par ... but still you cannot get along being an expert without knowledge ...

moreover if you still wish to go for a book ...

go either for

1. SCJP Certification - Kathy Sierra & Bert Bates

2. SCJP Certification - Khalid Mughal

i would say ... don't just take any, take the one you feel comfortable reading and the one you understand the best

we can only guide you, can't tell which book will be best for you ...

happy coding

Seriously, is there any link between subject line and your question?

Kathy Sera Kathy Sera and Kathy Sera!

The best book i have ever read, it makes you feel as if you sitting in front of a teacher(lady teacher, mind it! :P) and she is explaining it to you(Sorry Bert )

I suggest to you to take that book, and what else, visit javaranch daily, post your doubts, take mock exam when you are through with the topics,
Thats all you got to do!!!
