Voice matcher application

Hi,

I have to make a small application in which user has to input a voice (e.g. his name).Now what application will do is to search that voice pattern in local database and find the matching pattern. I do not know from where to start.

Hi,

Why dont you look at googles api for speech recogition -http://developer.android.com/resources/articles/speech-input.html
And do a Language Dependant search words Column in DB.
The keywords should be ranked to find the highest matched row, TADA you got a matching word.
Google supports better things check the link i provided.
