Was delivered to my doorstep today. This is her picture. These are her measurements and features.

Errrr, yeah it's a TV

I'm really, really excited about my shiny new toy! And also highly caffeinated, could be a connection there.
Also purchased the Samsung BD-C6800 3D blue-ray player, but unfortunately I don't have any 3D content to try out yet. Might pick-up a copy of Avatar tomorrow and try out those glasses. That should be an....interesting spectacle

Ok, if we're going to talk about shiny new toys...

My latest shiny new toy is a Dell U2711 monitor, I got it two weeks ago. It's incredible; 27 inch screen with a nice high resolution (2560 x 1440) and very good color reproduction (Dell calibrates this screen in the factory, so you can be sure the colors are accurate).

Enjoy your new TV Jelle!

Ah, you know I got this really bad attitude that managers, economists and materialistic women hate. The less I work, the happier I am. And the less money I spend, the less I have to work. I got a ten year old TV, and it suits me fine. Of course others may organize their life in the different manner, without my complaints.

I guess
Yesterday I "wasted" my evening playing around with the TV's and the blu-ray player's features.
I like the Internet@TV option, but it's very limited. Just the available apps, of which the Youtube app is the most interesting.
The 720p content looks amazing on a 46" screen! I'll ever watch Youtube on my tiny 17" TFT monitor again
Still, I'm going to look for a decent NMT, or maybe assamble an HTPC.
Regardless, I also need decent NAS device with a few TBs of storage capacity to store audio / video / image content.
There goes my vacation budget for 2011....
