Maybe it is because I interview more experienced candidates, but I always interview from actual projects... meaning talk about something that you worked on, and tell me a story about it. We will get to the technology, etc., but by then, I kinda understood what you did -- and know that you don't have the API memorized.
I find it weird to
test a candidate on an API, as that is just dumb luck; the candidate could have just read a book on the very subject a few days ago.
