I'd like to know what are the new interesting topics in this book for whom is already a SCJP (Java 1.4 version)

Hi Rogerio,

I kind of think of the 5 and 6 exams as being the same. The differences are very minor.

So, there was a HUGE change in the exam after the 1.4 exam. I would say that maybe 35% of the exam changed. The big additions are:

- generics
- APIs
- File I/O
- classpaths and JARs

We think it's possible for a few programmers to skip the step of using a study guide and rely only on the practice exams book. But our guess is that most programmers will discover that their mock exam scores aren't good enough if all they use is the practice exam book. In the beginning of the new book there are two, short, (14 question) assessment exams. If you score well on those, then it's possible that this book is all you'll need.
