Hi everyone,
I do not knot was it aim of the SUN to confuse developers about having scea exams, but they done well with me
What is part 3 finally?
Do I take it at Prometric center like part 1 or, should download those questions, like an assignment for part 2?
I am not sure, but as much as I could figure out, it looks like:
I pay an exam at Prometric site (just as I did with part 1), then schedule exam at Prometric. There, I will get a list of questions (just as I did get a questions for part 1) , and some text area to answer then, in 90 minutes.
Since, part 3 is related to part 2 (my assignment) I suppose it is logically forst to finish my part 2, before getting part 3, right?

Please, anyone who already took part 3, let me note are my assumptions correct?
Thanks!

You submit your assignment for part 2. For part 3 you visit a prometric center and take an exam (essay)

Hi Deepak,
I understand that, but can you tell me that, how it looks like at the exam, there is no explanation ?
As much as I understood, I will have 8 questions, with a text areas for answers. Is that correct?
Thanks!

Since, duration of the exam is 90 minutes, I am not sure is it enough time, to read questions, have a thoughts about it, construct answering curve, and to provide about 250 words, for each question... It looks like, concentration must rocks during the exam!

Some of my answers were only 5 lines long. The answers are as long as they need to be. Dont try to hit the 250 word mark for each answer !

I have to admit I am confused as well.

I submitted the assignment for part 2. Now what? Should I wait until I hear back from the scea folks or should I purchase part 3 and go on with it? I read that others went on with part 3 before submitting the assignment. Is part 3 containing questions about the assignment application or questions in general? In my mind, I originally thought that someone reads your assignment and the questions are related to the assignment and your design, but now I don't think that is true anymore.

Thank you

You should purchase part 3 and go.

In theory one should have part 3 before part 2 submission. The question are generic and not specific to your assignment submitted. I don not know which genius at Oracle had decided that ;-)

You will see that scea folks will reply to your submission mail in few days and tell you to have part 3

So, conclusion is what? Do part 2, send them an email with .jar, and take part 3. Right?

Ideally you should take part 3 and submit part 2 shortly after. If you did submit part 2 already, just go ahead and take part 3 now.

I'm wondering why is it numbered part 3 if it should be taken before part 2?

And if the questions in part 3 are not related strictly to your solution in part 2, how do you prove that you actually did part 2 and not someone else ?

Also, what rational would have to ask general questions in part 3, when this was the aim of part 1 ?!?

With best regards,
Sorin

You need to do the work for part 2 before part 3. The submitting is just an administrative detail.

You can't prove it. But it related somewhat to your solution so you'd have to know it well.

The aim of part 1 was to test knowledge of concepts and how you apply them in scenarios. The aim of part 3 is more general. It's about your describing how you would address a more open ended problem and examine tradeoffs.

The questions are not related strictly but your reply can be.
