back up my sql table on the local machine

I have a mysql server in another machine and i want to back up a table in a database to my local machine using java.
I have used select * into outfile command but problem is the file is saved in the server machine.

Can anyone help me to do this function which is very urgent....

can you connect from the local machine using mysql-dump? that is preferred.
Otherwise you can have a quick look at dbTamer in my signature to read from the db using a JDBC connection and write the schema and data locally.
