Communications link failure how do i get ride of that ??? please help.
The problem came when i tried to run my java chat with JDBC on my windows computer instead of ubuntu linux.

Simply, ask for the ride & settle the fare

Ok jokes apart, but for communication exception, please verify that the DB server is up and running and your connection got the correct URL of that machine. and from next time, please post the relevant stack trace.
