Gurock Software announced the release of TestRail 2.3, a new version of their web-based test management tool. TestRail helps software development teams and QA departments to efficiently manage, track and organize their software testing efforts. TestRail 2.3 comes with major scalability and performance improvements for large teams and introduces new optimized views for test suites and test runs among many other improvements.

With more than 60+ changes, improvements and bug fixes, TestRail 2.3 is the biggest update of the product since the release of TestRail 2.0. The new version comes with alternative views for the test suite and run pages that make it easier to work with larger numbers of test cases. An optimized user interface with a new section tree simplifies navigating and organizing test suites and rearranging test cases and sections via drag&drop.

Especially larger teams and teams with many test cases also benefit from performance and scalability improvements introduced in the new version. Numerous database optimizations, algorithm changes and user interface improvements make TestRail lightning fast even for larger enterprise teams. TestRail 2.3 also features an improved Todo page to work with assigned tests. The improved Todo page makes it easier to work with many test assignments, and working with multiple test runs, milestones and test plans at the same time has been simplified.

The new version also comes with many other new features and improved support for third-party tools. TestRail 2.3 now supports Internet Explorer 9 and also comes with a new defect plugin for Axosoft OnTime to directly push and look up issues and bug reports. Other improvements include optimized Excel exports, easier attachment backups and a new way to customize the subjects of email notifications.

TestRail is installed directly on a customer's server or can be hosted online with most hosting providers. The software can be purchased for $239 (US) per user, with additional discounts available for multi-user packs. A free fully-functional trial of TestRail (either hosted or downloaded) and an extensive product tour can be found on Gurock's website.
